Your Weekly Vedic Stars
October 2010
Sunday the 3rd All 4 planets are strong again today. Uranus is the planet of freedom; Jupiter is the planet of big ideas. Ideas so big that generations are defined by them and tribes adopt them. But most of all Uranus is all about freedom. Take a few minutes to notice when, where or how you feel free. Take notes. Look back on the past 6 months or even a year: Time to learn. Saturn is about structure and order: Theirs and yours…grin. Mercury is about mental organization, even business. Put them together and notice where you’re stressed and how order or routine helps free you. Remember, it’s all about perception. You can feel liberated in the most confined situation: trust me I know from the past 2-1/2 years of my sweet husband’s recovery. you can feel trapped when you have everything before you. This is your personal assessment of freedom and how you experience it. Note too who’s company you enjoy, the activities and when you feel most like you are harnessed to a treadmill that never stops. It’s your life and Uranus is about liberation from within and sometimes from without.
Monday the 4th Welcome work week: It’s good to be here. I know it’s Monday; but, it’s a day when the good stuff is easier to see. Look for it. You can choose where to turn your thoughts. Venus and Mars remain close together. Everyone wants to talk about relationships. I challenge you to find a few literary or social examples of joyful relationships. If you can’t find them you are choosing drama rich entertainment and well surrounding yourself with folks for whom the worst date drama is a contest. Overall this is a very productive day. It’s all about what you’ll produce
Tuesday the 5th This is Mars’ day of the week. Mars is next to Venus. This union is charismatic and colorful. But which planet is stronger? In western astrology it’s Mars in the “sign” Scorpio. In Vedic it’s Venus in the constellation Libra. No matter which system you prefer: the male and female planets are spending a lot of time together. You’ll enjoy it more if you enjoy both sides of you. Are you convinced that men have it better? You will be overwhelmed with proof that you are right. Are you certain that women get all the breaks: You’ll find data to support it. Do you believe that each is different and bring a rich flavor to the dish of life? You will be surrounded by evidence that we are really fascinating in our difference and that is a good thing. Yin and Yang are balanced. Wise managers bring differences to the creative table. So do wise parents and lovers and folks who simply enjoy life.
Wednesday the 6th It’s a great morning to try something again. That something that didn’t quite make it the last time is coming to mind at the strangest times. This is the dark balsamic phase of the moon. It’s hard to get going, but is a powerfully intuitive time. Notice what comes to mind….again. Revisit it and look at it from different angles. But wait for the New Moon to act. This is about a shift is perspective so the good stuff comes to the surface. Indulge in the shift for a few more days.
Thursday the 7th We’re still looking at the project or prospect from a variety of angles. The Moon crossed mercury the thinker and Saturn the pragmatist. This combination is great for doubt or at least looking at obstacles. But Jupiter faces them and Jupiter helps us find the faith or a way to success. Jupiter is going backward now. Time to look again at the way you think. Sure hard work if part of the package, but it’s important to see if you missed a doorway where you were certain a wall had been. We the People hear plenty of promises this month. Some might open a real door so keep looking.
Friday the 8th The New Moon is on and she’s moving toward Venus and Mars today…and the weekend. Bet I know what folks spend money on: primping, preening and pie! Venus appears to stop in the heavens to go backward. She is strong, loves to shop and do business. Venus loves to look good and indulge. If you are headed out for a date, embrace the goddess energy and attract your mate. But don’t forget that Venus loves sweets! She is retrograde so thoughts of loves past: both lost opportunity and near misses come to mind. But that’s not what the New Moon is all about: It’s about action for today. So take what you’ve learned. Laugh at your humanity and enjoy the company of one or friends. If you’re just interested in work, the work place is full of talk about the weekend. Get your job done and let managers worry about what the others are doing.
Saturday the 9th The Moon crosses both Venus and Mars today. No better combination to meet and greet or just be in the company of men and women. Plenty of folks are shopping. Retrograde Venus loves the retro look but keep it feminine. The guys want to look dapper too. Don Draper of Mad Men had an influence on style. Venus enjoys a nice lunch too…but the movers and shakers are out in force tonight. I don’t mean to fixate of dating. Venus is very strong in a mansion that is great for literature, music and business. But the urge to merge looking your best is extraordinarily strong. Some folks are too cynical to try again. Those folks are heard telling tales from a dysfunctional past to others who love a good drama.
Sunday the 10th The Moon pulls away from the cosmic lovers and spends a few days alone. Time to rest and reflect of the past 2 days. What have you learned about the way you approach love? Were you critical? Were you compassionate? Did you simply want to be adored? Would you want to spend another date with you? Heavy stuff but insightful: It’s true! Most folks would rather go shopping. Take just a minute to notice what you bring to the table and don’t forget it. They can’t see it if we don’t feel it. Be generous and acknowledge each other for what they bring. Venus is moving very slowly, but she is in a most productive mansion. What would you like to produce?
